Just a few of the crops this week. If you haven’t tried Carmen peppers yet, I’d give it a shot next spring. They are the perfect blend of sweet/hot. You can find them at the Tasteful Garden. Along with the peppers, I also ordered red onions and golden potatoes this year from them and everything turned out beautifully. For the first time, I also had carrots that actually were SWEET and delicious. In years past, they’ve always been bitter.
With September around the corner, I’m already thinking about garlic (of course I always think about garlic when I’m cooking). I’m looking for Russian, Italian and Korean garlic to plant this fall. There’s nothing yummier than a whole roasted garlic bulb spread on crackers.
